Yoga for Back Care
This back care class introduces you to the knowledge of how yoga based techniques can be used to enhance physical stability, create deep internal changes with breathing exercises, and how a profound state of rest that can be experienced through a systematic relaxation.
Julia A. Kress is a 500 hour certified yoga teacher through the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy. She has been teaching yoga since 1995 to various populations, through schools, health clinics, gyms, yoga studios, and in nursing homes, serving a population from the ages of 3 to 98 years of age. She has complemented her Yoga Studies with a BA in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo to increase her knowledge base of anatomy, physiology, neurology, biomechanics, and western science.
Julia's detailed knowledge of the human body combined with her passion making yoga accessible to everyone makes this class perfect for those wanting to learn how to manage their own pain and/or prevent future injuries. She will focus on a series of postures and breath work intended to develop strength in the core muscles that will increase postural awareness and strengthen your natural alignment.
